Bec and Bridge for an afternoon of downpours

Yesterday was tough, weather forecasting wise. All model guidance had persistent rain for Melbourne in the morning, yet we were stuck in a rain shadow. All guidance had big falls over 80% of the Melbourne metro area in the afternoon - yet some missed out almost completely, while others saw over 100mm.

I feel like I can fit that much in the sleeves of this Bec and Bridge dress :)

Unfortunately, this particular dress is no longer available - but here are some others that I like from the brand:

Comfy Country Road for dodging thunderstorms

This is Melbourne, but we're currently in a tropical airmass that has come straight down from Quensland. The mugginess calls for something comfy, that can breathe!

I have two go-to, comfy dresses from Country Road, a dark blue and a dark green - but they are almost two years old now and no longer available. Here are some from their new stock that may suit:

I'm loving big hoop earrings, and there are so many interesting versions of them, even some with lightning!:

One long weekend and a lot of dresses!

Friday night was the weather live from Moomba, with the waterskiiers warming up on the Yarra behind me.

Then it was Super Saturday at Flemington, in Ginger and Smart.

Then Monday was back at Moomba with a little help from the police!

Zara black floral dress for the last of this stretch of hot and sunny days

I was incredibly hesitant about this dress when I was first urged to try it on - 'black' and 'floral' just seemed so 90's to me.

But I am so glad I didn't let that cloud my judgement, because this dress has received so many lovely comments.

Its from Zara, at least early 2016, so I can't find it for all the people that have asked where its from, but here are a few alternatives, that I think don't look at all 1990's!

The earrings are a gorgeous stud / tassel combo, and I've found an amazing pair from Oscar De La Renta (!) and a fantastic alternative at Portmans :)

Endless sunshine calls for pink!

I'm a bit lucky that I occasionally get to wear dresses that have been designed especially for me. This particular run of warm and sunny days felt right to wear pink.

Red lace to enjoy lunch at Flemington and present the weather

What a day enjoying lunch at Flemington, milking goats then researching and presenting the weather :)

Milking a goat was really fun, especially teamed up with Jockey Chris Symons, and 'the race' called by Jason Richardson

Ladies in Black - in white :)

Dress: Ministry of Style Waves Off the Shoulder | Bag: Tony Bianco

I took my mum to Ladies in Black, a lovely Aussie musical set in Sydney in the 1950's. I decided white was appropriate, and wore a dress that is now on sale (!) at The Iconic

Here are a few more from Ministry of Style that I like:

Ginger and Smart to start the weekend

We selected this great Ginger and Smart dress to start the weekend, with an interesting use of a floral pattern. Thank you for all the lovely feedback! Here are a few more from their collection:

I love wearing a skinny belt - as I'm sure you have noticed! With my figure it helps on nearly every dress. Here's a few that may work for you:

And all my "in-studio" shoes come from Tony Bianco. I currently use each of these:

Afternoon sunshine in Williamstown in Hugo Boss white dress

Morning fog cleared to sunshine so we wore the Hugo Boss Harleth Quilted Sheath Dress in cream on Thursday 2nd March 2017.

This dress is seriously comfortable - here are a few more that look just as good:

I actually prefer this belt I've found here - I think skinnier belts can sometimes look better. And we usually tie them at the back to make for a 'cleaner' silhouette:

We kept the earrings simple, just a circle of silver, similar to some of these:

The sunshine was lovely after the murky morning.

and always in my trusty flats by Diana Ferrari :)

Blue stripes dress by Karen Millen

I decided to finish summer with the same dress I wore to usher in the warmth last year.

It seems to be rather popular on my social media channels, so I thought I'd give you the details. Its the Karen Millen 'Striped Midi Dress'.

This was a last season item from Karen Millen but I've found some alternatives that could work well.

I wore it for our first warm day back in November, at the Australian Open, and to end summer at the Royal Botanic Gardens.

You will often see me with flats on when I'm out and about, I recommend Diana Ferrari Sands - they are, hands down, the most comfortable pair of shoes I have found.
