The stats are in and March 2017 was the second hottest in 161 years of observations
A hot month ended with two cool days - but overall, March 2017 was incredibly warm. The summer that kept on going.
We averaged 16.4C overnight - the fourth hottest on record, and 26.9C during the day - the fifth hottest on record.
But when you put both of these together, and rank all the years from highest to lowest, March 2017 comes in second on the list - our second hottest March on record.
Interestingly though, 1856 is in the top five, with warmer nights than we had this March.
